TRAIN THE TRAINER
To empower potential facilitators to enhance formal facilitation and training skills so as to be used in a formal training environment.
Those who achieve these unit standards will be able to plan a learning event, select materials from a prescribed package and prepare an environment conducive to learning, usually working under supervision of a more senior practitioner.
Those who achieve these unit standards will be able to facilitate a well structured and varied programme of learning, implementing the principles of Outcomes Based Education (OBE), use a range of teaching methods and techniques and encourage learners to participate actively and confidently in the learning process.
These unit standards will also be useful to people who assist candidates to prepare and present evidence for assessment. Such evidence facilitators will add values to the assessment process by ensuring candidates are ready to present well-organized and complete evidence to registered assessors. Their value will be particularly felt when assisting candidates who are competent in their field, but are unable to present coherent evidence of that fact for reasons unrelated to their skill area.
