TEAMWORK 1STE LINE MANAGER
1. SCOPE
Intended for managers and junior managers who aspire to become supervisors or line managers at any level.
Persons credited with these unit standards will be able to:

- Monitor and evaluate performance
- Developing a plan of action to enhance team performance
- Explaining why organisations record and keep information
- Identifying own role in an organisation
- Keeping records of resources
- Lead the team, plan and allocate work and assess team members within context
- Naming and describing the type of records that a junior manager or team leader is required to keep
- Recording aspects of individual performance
- Recording team achievements against agreed targets
- Reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of themselves and their teams in order to manage team performance
- Set performance goals and measures
- To formulate development plans
- Understanding the dynamics within a specific group
- Using a variety of strategies to deal with potential conflict in a team or group
2. PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS / LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE
It is assumed that people starting to learn towards these standards are able to:

- Understand the work environment
- Gather and use information relevant to managing individual and team performance
- Apply basic negotiation, interviewing and interpersonal skills
- Competent in Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF level 2
- Understand teamwork and knowledge of the role and functions of a team leader
