SHEQ REPRESENTATIVE

1. SCOPE

Qualifying learners will be able to:

  • Discuss and explain the purpose of safety equipment and procedure
  • Identify and explain the purpose of demarcated areas, emergency stops, exits and first aid station
  • Use personal protective equipment
  • Perform housekeeping duties in work are
  • Identify and respond to unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions, incidents or acts that may occur
  • Discuss and explain procedures for dealing with safety, health and environmental emergencies
  • Identify the nature of an incident and the relevant emergency procedure
  • Follow emergency procedure
  • Record and report incidents

2. PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS / LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE

  • A person taking this unit standard is assumed to have acquired the competence described in the Level 2 HIV and AIDS unit standard
  • The credits allocated to this unit standard assume that a learner has already learned to apply safety, health and environmental protection procedures
