SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT BUSINESS RELATIONS
Persons using this unit standard are able to explain key operational procedures of an organisation. They are also able to identify key features of an organisation, whether large or small.
Learners credited with this unit standard are able to:
• Define the purpose of the organisation.

The skills, values and knowledge reflected in this unit standard are required by people in the field of manufacturing and engineering. The learning outcomes in this unit standard also contribute to the exit level outcomes required for various manufacturing and engineering qualifications. Qualifying learners can explain their role within a business and their rights, contributions and responsibilities. They are able to demonstrate an understanding of how a business functions, organisational structures, organisational culture and procedures and concepts.
Qualifying learners can select and use the appropriate fire fighting equipment to extinguish or control fires in the workplace.
Qualifying learners can keep their work area safe and productive when carrying out their work duties. They can demonstrate an understanding of safety requirements, procedures and equipment.
Qualifying learners can participate in work group activities. They can demonstrate an understanding of team work and the benefits and difficulties thereof.
