This competence will equip individuals to reflect on and make informed choices about their attitudes and behavioural practices. It will also contribute to building a wider understanding of HIV/AIDS issues; to the rights of people living with HIV and AIDS; and to workplaces which are more responsive to the needs of those living with HIV and AIDS.
Qualifying learners can follow procedures to deal with safety, health and environmental emergencies or incidents in the workplace and minimise damage or injury.
Qualifying learners can monitor the application of safety, health and environmental protection procedures to maintain the discipline of the safety, health and environmental protection system. They are able to monitor adherence, promote and maintain preventive measures, coach their work team and evaluate and suggest changes to the system.
2. PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS / LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE
- A person taking this unit standard is assumed to have acquired the competence described in the Level 2 HIV and AIDS unit standard
- The credits allocated to this unit standard assume that a learner has already learned to apply safety, health and environmental protection procedures
