INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS: DISCIPLINARY ACTION
This unit standard is intended for people who are, or seek to be a human resources management or employment relations practitioner or a general manager. Persons credited with this unit standard are able to identify and categorise transgression, implement appropriate procedures and represent an employee at a disciplinary hearing.
This unit standard introduces the junior manager to the preparation and procedures required in conducting a structured meeting to ensure that objectives are achieved.
This unit standard is intended for junior managers of organisations.
The qualifying learner is capable of:
- Preparing for a meeting.
- Conducting a meeting.
- Dealing with differing views in a meeting.
- Distributing records of a meeting.
The qualifying learner assessed as competent against this unit standard will be able to analyse and interpret conflict in their area of operation and contribute towards a conflict resolution/management strategy. This competence contributes towards better understanding of communities and effective intervention strategies. Achievement of this unit standard will enhance the learner`s ability to guide a community development project to its successful implementation and enhance employment opportunities in Conservation and Community Conservation.
2. PROGRAMME ENTRY REQUIREMENTS / LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE
It is assumed that people starting to learn towards this standard are able to:
- Communicate effectively (at least NQF level 4)
- Apply principles of policy and procedure implementation
- Demonstrate an understanding of an organisation and its functions
- Apply consultation skills. * Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 3.
